Wow. It was closing night for the play last night - The Hound of the Baskervilles. The play was sold out and the audience was great. It's such a different feeling to get to know the players and see how incredibly hard they work and be able to appreciate what they do. The 3 men in this play (that's all, just the 3 men) were wonderful. One of them, Bill Mootos, only played two parts: that of Bill the one who does the introduction and thank yous, and Dr. Watson. Doug Shapiro played the part of Sir Charles Baskerville, Sir Henry Baskerville, the hansom cab driver and a local oldster. Graciany Miranda (affectionately known as "G") played the following parts: Sherlock Holmes, the butler and the butler's wife, the bad guy and Celia the bad guy's sister/wife. I don't know how they did it. These young men were soaking wet when the play was over. The shear energy it took to do the parts, the quick changes and do it so well makes my head spin. I took Doug, Sean and Graciany to the bus stop this morning and was a little surprised at how much I'm going to miss them. I've only known them since Thursday and I'm feeling bereft! Sandi is hoping to come back next summer as costume designer and I just may come with her as her assistant! We'll see. Something to think about and dream about. We're leaving for Boston tomorrow around noon and are planning on spending 2 nights there. We're going to go out to dinner with a former New Seasons employee Matt Iarussi tomorrow. It will be so good to see him! This journey I'm on is pretty wonderful. I feel as though I'm discovering some new facets of both myself and my sister. How blessed I am to have this opportunity. Here is a picture of the cast, friends and Sandi and I. I'll write more tomorrow.
