We're starting our new adventure!

Here I sit in Gilman House, the residence of the actors, in Tamworth, NH. What an interesting trip this has already started to be. I flew into Manchester, NH on Wednesday night an hour late, which made it 11:30pm when I got there. Sandi had the foresight to get a room at a motel so that we wouldn't be driving late...she is so smart! We left Manchester yesterday morning after having a wonderful breakfast at a 50's style diner. Now, we are home. I had the privilege of seeing the last play the Barnstormers are putting on and that Sandi did the costumes for. They are doing "Hound of the Baskervilles," which is a real spoof on the play. There are only 3 actors and those 3 play about 16 parts. I laughed so hard and so totally enjoyed it. Linda, you would have just loved Doug; he played everything from a peasant cab driver to the new lord of the Baskervilles. There is another one tonight and then a matinee and night show tomorrow....Then, the plays are over. Another treat of today was going to the library and listen to Doug Shapiro read and sing a book - Burt Dow, Deep Water Man, by Robert McCloskey - to the local children. It was totally captivating for the children and for the adults!

Here is Doug, deep into the story
The children are totally into it!
This little girl was so shy she didn't want to come in; now look!

As you can see, it was a total hit.  The librarian said that she was shushing people so she could hear, too.
Well, I'm going to go off for now and get ready to see the show again tonight.  Did you know that there is something addictive about laughter?? Love, Carol

  3. Carol, yes, there IS something addictive about laughter. And there is something addictive about having a friend like YOU who wholeheartedly embraces life. We are enjoying the coverage of your time there with Doug and Shawn. Please give them a big hug from Aunt Linda!
