| Shows the area for Williamsburg...lowest river, north side |
Yesterday, we drove from New York City to Williamsburg, VA, in what proved to be a beautiful but VERY long day. It was around 10:30pm when we got here and we were exhausted. We rolled out of bed around 10:30am (believe it or not!) and went to breakfast, then on to Colonial Williamsburg. What a day this has been. Sandi was here several years ago, however I have never been here and it was all a marvelous, new experience for me...it was just a wonderful for Sandi. I have a new perspective on the history of our country; what our founding fathers went through and how the people, people like you and me, lived. May I say that I am truly thankful for our founding fathers and I am also very happy that I live today and not in the 18th century. Here are some pictures from today:

Tonight we are, once again, exhausted! Tomorrow we are going to go to Washington, D.C. and spend the day. It won't be nearly long enough, but we decided to concentrate on the beginning of our country, not the now; therefore, we will be coming back to Williamsburg tomorrow night and spend a full day and night here. There is still a lot of Williamsburg we want to see. After that (be prepared, Paule Sue!!!) we will be heading on to Bristol, TN. Now, it's off to bed and then on with our fantastic adventure. Love you all!
We are really enjoying the journey (vicariously) and thank you for the pictures!!!
